Holiday Shacks® is a luxury holiday accommodation business which was first established in 2008 to offer guests and owners alike a personalised, end-to-end managed service.

Meet our founder

Andrea Wilson, founder and Managing Director of Holiday Shacks® Luxury Accommodation, is a highly respected leader in luxury short-stay property management and an accomplished property investor. Since opening her first luxury holiday home in Mount Martha in 2007, Andrea has grown her personal portfolio to include several stylish and beautifully furnished homes across the Mornington Peninsula.

Frustrated by the lack of personalised service in the short-stay market, she turned a family vision into Victoria’s leading boutique property management company. Today, Holiday Shacks® curates a portfolio of luxury homes across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, each managed with hands-on care, meticulous attention to detail, and a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences while generating strong returns for owners.

Andrea’s experience as both an investor and operator gives her unique insight into the needs of property owners. She is a former Board member and President of the Holiday Rental Industry Association of Australia (2012-2017) and a current advocacy and policy member for ASTRA, making her a strong advocate for industry standards, regulation, and professional best practice.

Beyond her professional achievements, Andrea balances her passion for property with quality time spent with family, travel, and a dedication to health and fitness. An avid marathon runner, she combines the discipline and determination of her personal pursuits with leading Victoria’s premier luxury short-stay management company.

Why Holiday Shacks?

First designed as rustic shacks which mainly appeared at popular holiday beaches or remote riverside banks, they were often built with no formal planning regulations, usually furnished with the family’s odds and ends and given a hand-painted name as the final finishing touch. In the 1940s, Shack licenses were issued to the public, and the rustic Holiday Shack began to be transformed into a special place to stay with the little extras.

In Victoria, the Mornington Peninsula began the trend for more up-market holiday houses, beginning in Sorrento, the site of Victoria’s first European settlement in 1803 at Sullivan Bay. Sorrento and then Portsea fast became the established playground of the holidaying rich and famous, showcased by the magnificent holiday mansions, which today remain along the southern shorelines. In recent years, development and growth on the Mornington Peninsula have seen the emergence of luxury coastal and rural holiday homes.
